Torre di Bellosguardo
There are places that one does not truly own. They are entrusted to one’s care. TheTorre di Bellosguardo has crossed the centuries with a quiet strength. It has witnessed the city change—the seasons, the generations. It has enduredwhile everything else shifted around it. When I foundmyself facedwith the choice of letting it go or accepting the weight of its inheritance, I understood that this was not amatter of ownership, but of responsibility. TheTower does not belong to a family; it belongs to time. We aremerely a passage within it. To restore it, to reopen it, to return it to life was not an entrepreneurial decision. It was an act of fidelity—fidelity to thememory of those who built it, transformed it, inhabited it. Fidelity to that viewwhich has looked out over Florence for centuries, never tiring. Today, together with Ana, we continue this path with respect and discretion. To preserve its imperfections, its patina, its truth is to protect its soul. If these walls still speak, it is because someone before us chose not to interrupt the dialogue. We have simply chosen to listen. Baron Amerigo Franchetti Fo r ewo rd
